**************
* IMPORTANT! *
**************
This release is tested in many ways, but there is little software that is
really bugfree. If you find any bug report it as soon as possible. You
may get a free update to TA2 if noone reported it allready.
Please report any problems that may occur while installing.
The GUI version of TransCfg is in preperation and will be released shortly.
ATTENTION!
The iconify option has to be handled with care! There are some problems
with some systems. A lockup is possible if you iconify while an ARexx
script is running. If you uniconify and a user is running an external
program like TrShell you don't get a local display until the user returns
to the menu. NOTE: Iconify is disabled for unregistered version.
TrPr is still experimental. If you encounter any problems let me know as
soon as possible.
There was no time to update the German docs so I did not include them.
They may be released seperately. It is possible there will be none because
TA2 is allready under heavy construction.
The file Support_Sites lists all currently active support and registration
sites as well as internet support. The file is placed in the Docs
directory.
NOTE: Amiga Time the former US registration site is offline.
The registration forms are placed in that directory also.
As usual update and install archives of TA are uploaded to Aminet and all
support boards.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Chris Quonoey's fido number is 3:633/359.0. The docs of v1.2 and
v1.21 listed a wrong node number.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
! DON'T USE MCP v1.10 with TransAmiga. This version caused Gurus!!! !
! I tested MCP v2.49 and it worked perfectly. !
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some features did not made it to the docs:
------------------------------------------
- At logon the current free stack is written to the logfile at loglevel
5 and above.
- Marked files are now sent in non-batch filetransfers one after an other
within a single call of the download routine.
- Added command line switch -ki (kill icon). If this switch is given at the
command line TA will not make an icon while iconified. This feature has
been requested shortly.
- Changed Too_Slow magic textfile to TooSlow to match the description of
the manual. :-)
======================
| Changes since v1.2 |
======================
- Fixed install script for 68020+.
- Fixed local logon. Logon was terminated when the master config file had a
serial device entry.
- Fixed terminal lock. When returning from iconify the menus were unlocked.

- *** NEW *** command line option for TransAmiga:
-PEN
If this option is specified at the command line the drawpens of the
screen TransAmiga opens it's window(s) on are changed.
On public screens you may get ugly colours, depends on the palette. If
you use a standard palette DON'T use this option. If you opened your own
public screen with ANSI compatible order of colours and 3+ bitplanes you
should get a nice look.
If you use a custom screen for TransAmiga you don't have to specify this
option as it is executed always.
HINT:
If you use screenmanager to open a public screen you should use
something like this:
ScreenManager TA open TITLE "TA PublicScreen" PLANES 4 MODE HL
DISPID 40120003 FONT Times FONTSIZE 13
COLORS=000,bbb,181,eb0,22c,91d,3ae,c22,777,fff,3b3,ff2,35e,a5f,6cf,f11
(-> all at one CLI line!)
DISPID has to be changed to match the displayid of the screen you want
to open. You may also want to use a different font. The only really
important part of this example is the colour setting.
The colours are (pen 0 to pen 15): black, light grey, dark green, dark
yellow, dark blue, dark purple, dark cyan, dark red, dark grey, white,
light green, light yellow, light blue, light purple, light cyan, light
red
If you are using just 3 bitplanes the the colours are different:
(pen 0 to pen 7): black, white, green, yellow, blue, purple, cyan, red
The definitions fo ScrrenManager would be:
COLORS=000,fff,383,fd1,35c,93e,6bf,d44
For those who don't know ScreenManager (by Bernhard Moellemann) the
three digits are hexadecimal. The three digits represent RGB. 0 is none
of the colour and F is full intensity.

- *** NEW *** command line option for TransAmiga:
-A<PubScreenName>
This option allows you to specify on which allread existing public screen
TransAmiga should open it's windows on. -p cmd line option is not needed
if this one is used, it's activated too. NOTE: You have to specify public
screen in the main config if this shall work. If there is still custom
screen set this has no effect.
Example:
You want TA to open it's windows on a public screen named TA. At the cmd
line you would add: -ATA
- Reduced size of several executables.
- Fixed a lockup of TrMaint when the user tries to edit himself.
- Fixed lastreadpointer update of TrRenUsrs.
- Minor changes to TAEd for easier calling of the help window.
- Fixed TrUMP for non-internal mail areas.
- Fixed a carrier problem. If the carrier was lost before the "connected"
screen was displayed a runtime error came up.
- Made an internal change in TrRenUsrs
- Fixed problem with internal online activity display.
Have fun!!
